Dear Prep Families,

We are writing to let you know that as a result of random COVID testing at our school building yesterday, there were two reported cases of COVID-19 in our building.

While we know this is certainly serious and alarming news, we want to assure you that our COVID-19 safety protocols have been activated, and we are taking the appropriate steps to ensure our school community is protected.

The most immediate next step is the school building will be CLOSED on Monday, 3/1. No students or staff will be reporting to the building.

Here is what happens next:

All students will learn remotely on Monday, 3/1. Like always, students should check their email at 9 am on Monday morning. There will be a link to their remote schedule for the day. Students will have Morning Meeting and live, remote classes throughout the day.
During this closure, the DOE will investigate, reach out to anyone who has come in contact, and ultimately make a decision about whether or not it is safe to re-open school on Tuesday, March 2nd.
If we are able to reopen on Tuesday, we will resume with the In Person schedule we have already shared. This means that Group A will be at school on Tuesday if we reopen.
No matter when we reopen, the group that is scheduled to be at Prep on that day will attend. As a reminder, the In Person schedule is:

- Mondays and Wednesdays: Group B

- Tuesdays and Thursdays: Group A

- Fridays: Remote only all groups (Groups A, B, and D)

Please read the attached letter for further information about this situation.
You can expect an update about Tuesday by Monday evening via email and an automated phone call, just like you have received this weekend.

We know this is a difficult and frustrating time. Thank you for continuing to endure the unknown with us, and taking the necessary precautions as we strive to keep all members of our school community safe.

Le escribimos para informarle que, como resultado de las pruebas de COVID al azar en el edificio de nuestra escuela ayer, hubo dos casos reportados de COVID-19 en M.S.136, la escuela secundaria de abajo.

Si bien sabemos que esta es una noticia seria y alarmante, queremos asegurarle que nuestros protocolos de seguridad COVID-19 se han activado y que estamos tomando las medidas adecuadas para garantizar que nuestra comunidad escolar esté protegida.
